start/shutdown error

Postby rumelkamaly » Tue Jan 22, 2008 12:02 am

hi i've installed the mpegbox on my asus p5k-vm motherboard and it works fine, however when i turn on the ignition it turns on but immediatly (2 seconds or so) turns off again, as if someone if holding the on switch. once the pc turns on and i disconnect the jumpers it stays on fine, but then when it comes to turning it off i have to make the jumpers touch for a seconds and it performs a soft shutdown.

the spec of the PC is: ( if helps)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66ghz
4GB Geil Ram 1000mhz
320GB Sata II HD
Pioneer DVD RAM
Xenarch 7" TSV Touch Screen Monitor

Have you tried turning around the jumper going to JP1 pins G1 and G2?

Do you think you might have an opposite polarity power switch?

hi jeff, i dont think i have an oppersite polarity motherboard as when the cars ignition is switched on it sends a signal to the motherboard and switches on but immediatly switches off again,
this is the spec of the motherboard:

???

Thanx again
