DSATX not working in the trunk 100F (39C) outside

Postby RipplingHurst » Sat May 17, 2008 12:30 am

Is it over 60? My harddisks are rated 60-70C, operating...I doubt that in the trunk is anywhere over 50-55 TOPS.

Is that too much for the DSATX? It is so frustrating, it's not even summertime.

By the way, there is a 120 Antec Tricool at MAX connected to the DSATX, blowing directly into it.

Any solutions? Is there a way to glue some heatsink somewhere?

Is it flashing 4 times? If it is flashing 4 times then the PSU has reached that temperature. It could be you're overloading it, not enough fan, or poor fan placement.

Please verify you actually are seeing the 4 flashes.

Yes, it was flashing 4 times.

I had a 120mm fan blowing directly to it, but it was inside a case, which was too restricted. I cut two more openings, for two more 120mm (one exhaust), and it now works better. I haven't see any 103F days yet though, got it 98F and so far so good.

OTOH, shame I can't use the brainstem to wake up from sleep with my DSATX. I have the 1.14 firmware you gave me, still no success.
